Joseph D. Pluta - President
According to those who know him, no individual has made more personal sacrifices or done more to bring a new hospital to West Maui than Joseph Pluta, who is the public voice of the proposed hospital and Golden Hour Campaign. However, Mr. Pluta is the first to tell you that this is a truly "team effort," of the Kaanapali 2020 Community Planning team, the West Maui Improvement Foundation Inc. Board members, the WMTA Board members, invaluable contributions from key consultants in Hawaii and the mainland as well as key individuals in the Maui Community including our elected representatives. Joe says "God is in charge of this project." In 2018, Joe was among the 5 recipients recently recognized as a Maui Peace Hero of 2018. There were nine nominees for this recognition and two that were selected are from West Maui. To read more about that qualifications and awardees, click here.
Rick Nava - Vice President
Leann Strasen RN, DPA, FACHE, former chief operating officer of Maui Memorial Hospital, provides advice and counsel on hospital financial feasibility and other heath care matters. She currently is a consultant for the Sullivan-Lakier GroupLeann. She has authored the text, Key Business Skills for Nurse Managers and conducted workshops and seminars on Financial Management for 15 years. She also teaches financial management, organizational behavior and project management classes for the University of Phoenix online and in the classroom. Leann lives in Lahaina, Hawaii

- Member of the Rotary Club of Lahaina since 1993.
- Rotary Club of Lahaina President in 2003-2004, 2009-2010 and 2017-2018
- Current Board of Director of the Maui Chamber of Commerce and Chairman of the Board from 2019-2021
- Former Maui County Police Commissioner
- WMTA Director since 2013 and President in 2017-2018
